Boston (pronounced /ˈbɒstən/ or locally /ˈbɔstən/ ( listen)) is the capital of and largest city in Massachusetts,[11] and is one of the oldest cities in the United States. The largest city in New England, Boston is regarded as the unofficial "Capital of New England" for its economic and cultural impact on the entire New England region.[12] The city proper, covering just 48.43 square miles, had a population of 617,594 according to the 2010 U.S. Census. Boston is also the anchor of a substantially larger metropolitan area called Greater Boston, home to 4.5 million people and the tenth-largest metropolitan area in the country. Greater Boston as a commuting region[13] is home to 7.6 million people, making it the fifth-largest Combined Statistical Area in the United States.[9][14]

Boston is safe. I have never witnessed any crime while I was outside. The best thing about the city is finding foods conveniently, and the worst things about it are virtually everything requires money and the T is barely clean and kind of smelly, such as the Orange line. I did not make lots of friends because I mainly focused on improving my English in the school.

Now I´m at New York and I had already started to miss Boston.
I was surprised with the facilities to walk and find all the places very near.
Also, the city has a big historical part and a modern part and this is amazing! I could visit museums, churches, restaurants, stores, etc.
I don´t have worst things to say about Boston... all the places that I went were nice and I enjoyed so much July 4th.
I made a lot of friends, but specially four friends that were with me all the time. We helped each other and I´m missing them here. We always went out together and we were interested to learn...

The night life could goes until 4 am. The cost of living is too high, mainly the food and the tourists atractions. The public transportation is good, even if you are trying long distances.

Hi!
I stayed in Boston for two weeks. It is a very charming city. It has all the things that a big city has, eventhough it remains a small and beautiful city. It was really nice to see that it is possible to gather the development of a big city and the cosiness of a small city at the same time. Boston offers a lot of options for people who search cultural programs. It has movies, a lovely public library and theaters. I watched the The beauty and the beast and it was really wonderful! Also, one of the major places to visti are the historical buildings and landmarks. Furthermore, there a lot...

The city is very beautiful. There is much to do and visit. People are nice and the place is very safe. It is a good place to do tourism and study at the same time.
I recommend to ask homesty close to the city, preferably very close to subway, because the bus service is restricted, with schedules, and this limits much when the home is withdrawal of the city or the subway.

If you have a chance to visit the city, you should definitely stop by Quincy Market - just get on the red T and get off Government Center. In the summer, they have some great sidewalk shows, shopping and more.
You also might want to check out Newberry St., which has a nice variety of sidewalk restaurants and cafe's, and then you can walk down Mass Ave. and visit Tower Records and Urban Outfitters.
For nightlife, there is always Landsdowne St. behind Fenway Park that has a bunch of clubs and bars, but really, the best places are those "hole in the wall" Irish pubs you find that are the...

My host family was great but it was far from the school.
I enjoyed activities with classmate.
I wish I could join the activities more so that I could make friends from different classes.
