Dublin ( /ˈdʌblɨn/; locally /ˈdʊbᵊlən/; Irish: Baile Átha Cliath, meaning "town of the hurdled ford", pronounced [blʲaˈklʲiə] or Áth Cliath, [aː klʲiə], occasionally Duibhlinn) is the capital and most populous city of Ireland. The English name for the city is derived from the Irish name Dubhlinn, meaning "black pool". Dublin is situated near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and the centre of the Dublin Region.

Dublin is definitely the best city i studied in. Irish people are so friendly and fun that i didn't want to come back home when i had to. I love Dublin and its places, its parks and its streets. I'm in love with irish culture and costumes and i felt like i was at home during my stay. I think that the only bad thing i found is that Dublin is pretty expensive for food above all.

The parks are the best. Having lunch or just a sandwich in Steven Green Park is something that not many will forget.
Worst thing about Dublin? I don't know, it's a quite expensive city, so without a job/part time job you can't stay much long (my case).

Non-smoking pubs, cinemas, theatres, museums - fun and interactive, friendly and helpful people, great public transport - all these things make Dublin a great place to stay.
Also food shops and restaurants on every corner make the place very convenient for travellers.

I love Dublin ! It's one of the best city I've ever seen ! People are so friendly ! The night life is something exceptional because it's funny, quite crazy (in the good sense) and safety, the perfect mix.
With Dublin and CES I meet people from all over the world, that's something really great. We meet people and we have a lot of new friends with who we keep in touch even after to be back in our own country.
Best things : I think the social/night life, the visit, the meeting and the shops.
The worst : the weather for sure... And also the cost of living.

Being in Dublin was quite nice to me for the most part.
But the weather was totally unpredictable, I caught a bad cold and had to be absent from school for a week or so.
And I found great difficulties in getting used to Dublin Bus, they have no anouncements or signs for the next stop you gotta be very carefull where to get off.
I saw some young beggers at the city centre everyday, they didn't do anything wrong to me but that was so sad to see them that way...
I met so many nice people from different countries and I talked to so many locals. Generally,Irish people I met were so nice and...

At first it seemed totally different from what I was used to, but I got used to it very well. There were no negative sides of living in Dublin except that buses were really few on weekends. I felt secure there.
I made a lot of friends at the CES and at the residence where i met a lot of Spanish and German students who came to learn and improve English there. I was even surprised because I met a girl from my country, Croatia which was really really great.
I was also very much surprised in a very positive way that one of our professors knew Croatia and my home town of Split well.
The food...

Ireland is a beautiful and magic country. It is the result of combining great people, amazing places and good music.
The best things
-People are very nice and polite. They always are ready to talk to everybody and to help other people with whatever. They are open to know other cultures. An example of this, is my host family, who was very nice with me. They made feel like I was at home.
-Dublin has got a special atmosphere. It´s an alive city but it isn´t stressful. It´s a very welcoming city. Parks are like forests: huge, with a lot of trees and big green surfaces. (very...

It was my first time in Ireland and abroad in general. Since I visited Dublin in 2009 it has become my favourite city. I have been in Dublin once again after that and will definitely come back. The Irish are very friendly people so I have made lots of Irish friends. Now I'm in touch with them and our friendship continues.

I really enjoyed staying in Dublin. It is a lovely city and there are loads of things to do and visit. What I like most about Dublin and Ireland in general are the people. Everyone is so kind and helpful and people always make you feel welcome. I really loved my hostfamily. We were loads of students and I made loads of friends.
The worst thing was definitively saying good bye to my hostfamily and to my friends.
I had an amazing time in Dublin and I really recommend going there.
I like the city but I think it's a bit expensive. Public transport is a mess.
I like people. People are kind and very polite. They are always available to help you

Living in Dublin has been a great experience.
The accomodation in a self-catering apartment in Ranelagh was superb.
Inhabitants have been very helpful and kind.
I made lots of friends at school as well as outside IH
May be a night bus service could help students to find a safer way home.
I had no negative experience due to crime but I have been told to be very careful if in some parts of the city.
Drunk people weren't nice to meet all day long, but that is a matter of social services

Every time I come, I love it ! It is fun, not too big, but big enough, there are plenty of things to do. The people are very friendly, and the atmosphere in the summer is incredibly international. Of course, the weather is...Irish, but if you need the sun, go to the Riviera. Of course, the packed lunches..., but if you want a gourmet vacation, go to the Ritz !

LO MEJOR LAS PERSONAS, EL PAIS PRECIOSO, Y LA VERDAD QUE LO ÚNICO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ ES LA COMIDA QUE COMPARÁNDOLA CON LA DE ESPAÑA ES MUY DEFICIENTE, PERO ES ALGO MÁS QUE CARACTERIZA A ESTA CIUDAD MARAVILLOSA.
FUIMOS A GALWAY, ME QUEDÉ IMPRESIONADA, TANTA BELLEZA! EN FIN CADA RINCONCITO QUE IBA VISITANDO ME IBA ENAMORANDO, ESPERO VOLVER MUY PRONTITO!!

I liked the friendlyness the people. Always calm and helping. I enjoyed the evening in the pub, songs and good moods of irish people.
I was a little bit scared by the amount of beer that young people drank.

From my point of view, Dublin is an ideal place to learn English. Local people are always willing to help and have chat. The city is well planned and organized. In addition to all this, it offers you several social events and the nightlife is pretty lively.
